You play as Li Xiaoyao, a young man whose life changes after meeting the mysterious Zhao Ling'er. In battles, you select commands from a menu for each character in your party, choosing to attack, use special magical skills, or deploy items. Managing your party's health and magical power (known as 'Qi') is essential for survival.
