The core objective of Puyo Puyo Sun is to clear the screen of colored blobs called Puyos by connecting four or more of the same color. You control a pair of Puyos that fall from the top of the screen, rotating and moving them to create chains. When you connect Puyos, they pop and send nuisance Puyos (gray blobs) to your opponent's screen. The key to victory is planning multi-chain reactions, where popping one group causes a cascade of other groups to fall and pop in sequence, overwhelming your rival with a large garbage attack. A beginner should focus on building simple two or three-chain setups near one side of the board, using the new Sun Puyo—which acts as a wildcard—to trigger chains more easily. In tense moments, manage your board carefully to avoid filling up, and watch for opportunities to use your opponent's garbage Puyos against them by clearing them from your own screen.
