The Punisher is a classic side-scrolling beat 'em up where you control Frank Castle (The Punisher) or Nick Fury through urban environments filled with criminals. Your objective is to fight through waves of enemies using punches, kicks, and grapple moves while progressing to the right of the screen. You can pick up various weapons like knives, pistols, machine guns, and rocket launchers to dispatch foes more effectively. Special attacks can be executed by pressing the attack button while jumping or by using a limited supply of grenades. The game features two-player cooperative play, allowing you to team up with a friend to clear stages together. In the early stages, focus on learning enemy patterns and conserving health items for tougher battles ahead. During tense moments, use your special attacks strategically when surrounded by multiple enemies. The challenge rhythm involves navigating through crowded streets, warehouses, and enemy bases while defeating bosses at the end of each level. Pay attention to environmental hazards and use thrown weapons to attack from a distance when overwhelmed.
