Como jogar
Contra is a fast-paced side-scrolling shooter where your primary goal is to survive through eight stages of intense alien-infested terrain. You control a commando who can run, jump, crouch, and fire in eight directions. The moment-to-moment play involves dodging enemy fire, jumping over pits, and eliminating waves of soldiers and creatures. Power-ups are crucial; shooting floating capsules reveals icons that upgrade your weapon, such as the Spread Gun, which fires in five directions, or the Laser, which deals high damage. Early on, focus on memorizing enemy patterns and securing a powerful weapon to handle the increasing threats. In the middle stages, use cover wisely and prioritize destroying enemy spawn points. During tense moments, like boss fights, keep moving and aim for weak points while avoiding projectiles. A key beginner strategy is to learn the famous Konami Code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A) at the title screen to start with 30 lives, making the challenging campaign more manageable.
