You control your character from a side-scrolling perspective, running, jumping, and shooting in multiple directions. A key beginner strategy is to memorize enemy spawn points and prioritize collecting and keeping the Spread Shot for its wide coverage. Focus on learning boss attack patterns, as they often have specific weak points. During tense moments, keep moving to avoid enemy fire and environmental hazards, and don't be afraid to use your limited supply of smart bombs to clear the screen when overwhelmed.
