The challenge is to experiment systematically to fill your alchemy book and advance through the ages. Early on, focus on simple, obvious pairings to build a foundation of basic materials. As your catalog grows, try combining elements from different categories or newly discovered items to uncover more advanced creations. The game does not penalize failed combinations, so feel free to experiment. In later stages, you may need to combine multiple steps—for example, creating life before you can create humans or beasts. The core loop is one of trial, discovery, and gradual progression as you work toward completing all possible combinations.
