Your primary goal is to guide Mega Man X or Zero through a series of side-scrolling action stages, defeating Maverick bosses to acquire their special weapons. Moment-to-moment play involves precise running and jumping across platforms while shooting enemies with your arm cannon. A key beginner strategy is to learn enemy patterns and use the dash ability to quickly evade attacks. The challenge rhythm is intense, with frequent enemy encounters and tricky platforming sections requiring quick reflexes. In the early part of a run, focus on mastering the basic controls and identifying safe spots in each room. During the middle stages, experiment with the boss weapons you collect, as they are often super effective against other Mavericks. In tense moments, especially during boss fights, concentrate on dodging and waiting for an opening to attack rather than firing continuously.
