Metal Slug - 2nd Mission is a side-scrolling run-and-gun game where your primary goal is to advance through each stage, defeating enemy soldiers and rescuing POWs to earn power-ups and extra lives. The game is known for its high difficulty, so learning enemy patterns and conserving your special weapons for boss fights is crucial for survival. In the early stages, focus on mastering the jump and shoot mechanics while rescuing as many POWs as possible to build up your score and lives. As you progress, the levels become more complex with environmental hazards and tougher enemies, requiring quick reflexes and strategic use of your limited ammunition. During tense moments, especially in boss battles, prioritize dodging attacks over dealing damage, and use the tank's invincibility frames to your advantage.
