Explore towns, routes, and dungeons while managing your team's health and moves. Early on, focus on building a balanced team with varied types. Mid-game, evolve your Pokémon and complete side quests to gain useful items. In tense moments, such as rival battles or the Pokémon League, carefully switch Pokémon and use status-altering moves to gain an edge.
