In Spider-Man: Venom Maximum Carnage, you control either Spider-Man or Venom through various New York City locales, fighting waves of thugs and super-villains. The core objective is to progress from left to right, defeating all enemies in each area before moving to the next screen. Use basic attacks, special moves (which consume health), and character-specific abilities—Spider-Man can web-sling to traverse pits, while Venom uses brute strength. In the early stages, focus on learning enemy patterns and conserving health for boss fights. The middle of the game introduces more complex enemy types and environmental hazards, requiring careful positioning and timely use of special attacks. During tense moments, especially against bosses like Carnage or Shriek, prioritize dodging their projectiles and attacking during their recovery animations. A useful beginner strategy is to use hit-and-run tactics, avoiding getting surrounded, and using throws to clear space.
