Your goal is to guide Sir Daniel Fortesque through haunted levels, defeating monsters and solving puzzles to collect Chalices by killing enough enemies. Moment-to-moment play involves exploring atmospheric environments, using a variety of melee and ranged weapons like swords and crossbows, and managing your health. As a beginner, focus on learning enemy attack patterns and using your shield to block incoming damage. The challenge rhythm involves clearing areas of enemies, finding keys to unlock new paths, and facing a boss at the end of each stage. In the early game, prioritize finding Life Bottles to increase your maximum health. During tense moments, such as boss fights, keep moving to avoid attacks and use your most powerful weapons when you have an opening.
