The objective of Mickey's Speedway USA is to win races against a cast of Disney characters across various USA-themed tracks. You select a character, each with unique stats, and compete in Grand Prix cups or single races. During a race, you drive using the control stick to steer and the A button to accelerate. You can perform a turbo start by accelerating at the perfect moment when the race begins. Collect power-ups from item boxes scattered on the track, which can be used to attack opponents or gain a speed boost. Drifting around corners by holding the R button allows you to build up a turbo boost, which is essential for maintaining high speeds. The key to success is learning the track layouts, mastering the drift mechanic for boosts, and strategically using items to hinder rivals or protect yourself. In the early laps, focus on collecting items and avoiding hazards. During the middle of the race, use your accumulated boosts on straightaways to gain positions. In tense final laps, defensive item usage and clean driving are crucial for securing victory.
