Princess Crown is a side-scrolling action RPG where you control one of several protagonists, primarily the princess Gradriel, through a fantasy world. Your core objective is to advance the story by exploring towns, dungeons, and the world map, battling monsters in real-time combat. Moment-to-moment play involves moving through environments, interacting with NPCs, and engaging enemies. The combat system is unique: you have a standard attack button and a special skill button, but you also have a command menu to use items, magic, or perform special attacks, which pauses the action briefly. Your health and magic points are limited, and managing them is key. A useful beginner strategy is to master the block and dodge mechanics to avoid damage, and to use the command menu strategically to heal or unleash powerful attacks when an enemy is vulnerable. The challenge rhythm involves navigating platforming sections, solving light puzzles, and defeating bosses with specific patterns. In the early game, focus on learning your character's move set and managing your item inventory. In the middle of a run, exploration and completing quests become more important. During tense boss fights, patience is crucial; learn their attack patterns and strike during their recovery phases.
