The Death and Return of Superman is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you control Superman through various Metropolis locations. Your primary objective is to defeat waves of enemies using Superman's signature abilities including punches, flying attacks, and heat vision. Each level features platforming sections where you'll navigate obstacles while combating villains like Doomsday and Intergang members. The game follows the comic storyline closely, with boss battles against major antagonists from the Death of Superman arc. As you progress, you'll encounter different versions of Superman including the Cyborg Superman and Superboy, each with unique abilities. The challenge comes from managing your health while dealing with multiple enemies and environmental hazards. In tense moments, use Superman's flight ability to create distance and plan your attacks strategically.
