In Wild Arms, you explore the world of Filgaia from an overhead perspective, navigating towns, fields, and dungeons. Your primary objective is to advance the story by completing quests, solving environmental puzzles using each character's unique tools, and battling enemies in turn-based combat. In the field, you can search for hidden items and use tools like Rudy's gun to trigger switches or Cecilia's magic to reveal hidden paths. Combat occurs on a separate screen where you input commands for each party member, choosing from standard attacks, special skills called Tools, or magical spells. A key mechanic is the Force Gauge, which fills as you take damage and allows powerful special attacks when full. Early on, focus on balancing your party's abilities and conserving healing items. As you progress, managing your Force abilities and exploiting enemy weaknesses becomes crucial for surviving tougher boss fights.
