In Populous II, your goal is to grow your population of followers and eliminate the rival god's followers. You start with a small group of followers on a patch of land. Use your divine powers to raise and lower terrain, create volcanoes and earthquakes, and cast spells to help your followers build villages and expand their territory. Your followers will automatically build huts, which generate more followers over time. Early on, focus on expanding your landmass to provide more building space and using gentle powers like 'Land Bridge' to connect islands. As your power meter fills from your followers' worship, you gain access to more destructive spells. In the mid-game, use powers like 'Swamp' to damage enemy villages and 'Armageddon' to trigger catastrophic events. During tense moments, protect your villages from enemy attacks by quickly raising defensive land walls or striking the enemy's population centers with lightning or whirlwinds. The challenge is to manage your power reserves strategically, balancing expansion with offensive strikes.
