How to play
In Banjo-Tooie, you control Banjo and his bird companion Kazooie across large, multi-level worlds. Your main goal is to collect Jiggies, which unlock new areas, by solving puzzles, defeating enemies, and completing challenges. Each character has unique abilities: Banjo can climb, roll, and carry objects, while Kazooie provides flight, shooting eggs, and high jumps. You'll often need to switch between them or combine their moves to progress. Early on, focus on learning basic moves like the Talon Trot and Beak Buster. As you advance, you'll split up the duo to operate machinery or use transformation spells that turn you into creatures like a submarine or T-Rex. Pay attention to Mumbo Jumbo and Humba Wumba, who offer new transformations and abilities in exchange for collectible Glowbos. The game features interconnected worlds with shortcuts and hidden passages, so backtracking with new skills is key. In tense moments, manage your health by collecting feathers and eggs, and watch for environmental hazards and boss fights that require pattern recognition and quick reflexes.
