How to play
In Commandos, you command a small team of specialized soldiers, each with unique abilities, to complete objectives in large, enemy-occupied maps. The core objective is to infiltrate, sabotage, and exfiltrate without being detected. You control the team in real-time, but the game is heavily based on planning, patience, and precise execution. You must use the environment for cover, distract guards, and use each commando's specific tools—like the Green Beret's knife and explosives, the Sapper's traps, or the Sniper's long-range rifle—to overcome challenges. A useful beginner strategy is to save often, observe enemy patrol patterns carefully, and use non-lethal takedowns or distractions to thin out enemy numbers quietly. The challenge rhythm is tense and methodical; rushing usually leads to failure. In the early moments of a mission, focus on scouting the area and isolating lone enemies. In the middle phase, work on achieving key sub-objectives while managing your team's positions. During tense moments, such as alarms being raised, prioritize eliminating immediate threats and finding a safe place to hide and regroup.
