How to play
Darkstalkers is a fast-paced 2D fighting game where you select a supernatural character and battle opponents in one-on-one combat. The core objective is to deplete your opponent's health bar before they deplete yours, within a time limit. Each character has unique normal attacks, special moves, and super combos executed with directional inputs and button presses. A key mechanic is the Chain Combo system, allowing you to link light, medium, and heavy attacks in sequence for extended damage. Beginners should focus on learning a character's basic special moves and a simple bread-and-butter combo. The game rewards aggressive play and quick reflexes. In the early moments of a match, focus on zoning with projectiles or using your character's mobility to control space. During the mid-game, look for openings to land your most damaging combos. In tense situations, managing your super meter for a powerful EX Special or super combo can turn the tide. Defense is also critical; practice blocking high and low attacks and using invincible moves like reversals to escape pressure.
