How to play
FixEight is a cooperative top-down shooter where the core objective is to blast through waves of alien enemies across diverse stages. You control one of eight distinct characters, each with a unique default weapon, such as rapid-fire shots, lasers, or homing missiles. Your moment-to-moment play involves moving in all directions while continuously firing at enemies that approach from all sides. You can collect power-up capsules that cycle through weapon types to upgrade your firepower, and a smart bomb clears the screen when you're overwhelmed. A key beginner strategy is to learn each character's weapon strengths and stick with a partner in 2-player mode for combined firepower. The challenge rhythm is fast and constant, with larger enemies and screen-filling bosses requiring pattern recognition. In the early moments, focus on collecting power-ups to build a strong weapon. During the middle of a run, manage your screen-clearing bombs wisely for tight situations. In tense moments against bosses, prioritize dodging intricate bullet patterns while dealing sustained damage.
