Your objective is to finish each race in first place by navigating treacherous waterways filled with obstacles, jumps, and hidden paths. You control a high-powered speedboat, using the throttle to build up boost energy by driving over boost pads or performing tricks off ramps. Once your boost meter is full, activate it for a massive burst of speed to overtake rivals or make impossible jumps. Each track is filled with multiple route choices; exploring alternate paths is key to finding faster lines and secret shortcuts. In the early part of a race, focus on learning the main track layout and collecting boosts. As you advance, memorize the locations of major jumps and shortcuts to shave seconds off your time. During tense moments, use your boost strategically on straightaways or to recover from a mistake, but avoid crashing into obstacles at high speed, as it will slow you down significantly.
