How to play
In Ice Climber, you play as a mountain climber whose goal is to ascend a series of vertical stages by breaking through ice blocks above you. Each stage is composed of multiple platforms separated by ice barriers. You jump to hit the ceiling with your hammer to break the ice, then quickly climb up before the screen scrolls or enemies interfere. Along the way, collect vegetables for points and avoid creatures like Topis and Condors. The main challenge is timing your jumps and breaks to avoid falling or getting hit. Early on, focus on breaking a path upward quickly but watch for falling ice blocks. In later stages, you must manage faster enemies and trickier layouts. The final stage of each mountain features a bonus area where you can gather extra points before moving to the next, more difficult mountain.
