How to play
You control Raziel from a third-person perspective, exploring a vast interconnected world. Your primary objective is to hunt and defeat the lieutenants of Kain to gain new spectral abilities. Moment-to-moment gameplay involves solving environmental puzzles, platforming across chasms, and engaging in combat with spectral and material enemies. Use Raziel's Soul Reaver to drain energy from foes; when an enemy is weakened, execute a finishing move to devour its soul and regain health. A key mechanic is shifting between the Material and Spectral Planes to bypass obstacles or attack enemies that are only vulnerable in one realm. Early on, focus on mastering the basic combat combo and understanding the plane-shifting mechanic to progress. In the middle of the game, use your newly acquired abilities like climbing gloves and telekinesis to access previously unreachable areas. During tense combat encounters, prioritize dodging and using the environment to your advantage, as Raziel is vulnerable when surrounded. The challenge rhythm involves exploration, light puzzle-solving, and combat arenas.
