How to play
Vandal Hearts is a grid-based tactical RPG where you command a party of characters across isometric battlefields. Your core objective is to defeat all enemy units or complete specific mission goals, such as protecting an ally or reaching a certain tile. Each character has a unique class with different movement ranges, weapons, and special abilities. On your turn, you move your units across the grid and choose actions like attacking, using magic, or items. Positioning is critical, as attacking an enemy from the side or rear inflicts more damage. Terrain also affects defense and movement. A key beginner strategy is to keep your units grouped for mutual support, using tanks to absorb damage in front and archers or mages to attack from a safe distance. Focus on eliminating enemy mages and archers first, as they can deal heavy damage to your clustered party. The challenge rhythm involves carefully planning each move to avoid being surrounded, especially in the tense later stages of a battle where one wrong move can lead to a character's permanent death.
