How to play
The core objective in WCW/nWo Revenge is to defeat your opponent in the ring by pinning their shoulders to the mat for a three-count or making them submit to a submission hold. Moment-to-moment play revolves around a strong and weak grapple system initiated by holding the A button at close range. Different directional inputs combined with the A or B button perform a variety of moves, from basic slams to powerful finishers. A useful beginner strategy is to learn the timing for reversing opponent attacks by pressing the Z trigger just as their move connects, which can quickly turn the tide of a match. The challenge rhythm is built around managing your wrestler's spirit meter, which, when full, allows for stronger attacks and makes you immune to grapples. In the early moments of a match, focus on landing basic strikes to build your spirit meter. During the middle phase, use your stronger grapples to wear down your opponent's health. In tense moments when your opponent is weakened, look for an opening to hit your signature finisher and go for the pinfall victory.
