How to play
Xenogears is a turn-based RPG where you explore towns and dungeons from a 3D perspective, interacting with NPCs to advance the story and find items. Combat occurs through random encounters or boss fights and uses two main systems: on-foot combat and Gear combat. On foot, you build up Attack Points (AP) by using basic attacks, which you can then spend to unleash powerful Deathblow techniques. In your Gear, you manage Fuel and attack points to perform combos and special attacks. A key strategy is to learn and equip new Deathblows by repeatedly using specific button sequence combinations in battle. The game features extensive dungeon crawling, puzzle-solving, and character progression through experience points and new equipment. Early on, focus on mastering a few reliable Deathblows and managing your resources carefully during longer dungeons. In tense boss fights, especially in Gears, conserve fuel for healing and powerful attacks, and pay attention to enemy attack patterns.
