In Balloon Fight, you control a character equipped with a balloon pack that allows you to fly by repeatedly pressing the A button. Your main objective is to pop the balloons of enemy Balloon Fighters by bumping into them from above, which causes them to fall. If they land in the water, they are defeated; if they touch a platform, they will inflate a new balloon and return. You must also avoid being popped yourself by enemies, electric obstacles called Sparkys, and falling into the water. The game is played across single-screen stages, and you progress by clearing all enemies. A key strategy is to master the flapping rhythm to maintain altitude without overshooting platforms. In the early stages, focus on isolating enemies and attacking when they are vulnerable. During tense moments, prioritize evasion and use the environment to trap foes. The game also features a Balloon Trip mode, a survival challenge where you fly continuously while avoiding obstacles.
