You control Flik the ant through side-scrolling levels filled with platforming challenges and enemies. Your main objective is to navigate each stage from start to finish while avoiding hazards like spider webs, thorns, and hostile insects. Use Flik's jumping ability to traverse platforms and collect berries, which serve as both health restoration and ammunition for your seed shooter weapon. The seed shooter can be aimed in multiple directions to defeat enemies like grasshoppers and beetles. Each level contains hidden areas with bonus items and extra lives. The game features boss battles against Hopper's gang members at the end of certain stages, requiring pattern recognition and strategic use of your limited ammunition. Focus on mastering the timing of jumps and enemy movements early on, as later levels require precise platforming and quick reactions to environmental hazards. During tense moments, conserve your berries for difficult enemy encounters and prioritize reaching checkpoints to maintain progress.
