A key beginner strategy is to focus on securing alliances with neighboring weaker forces through diplomacy to avoid early multi-front wars, while steadily building your economic base. The challenge rhythm is turn-based, with each turn representing a month where you issue commands to all your cities and generals. In the early game, focus on internal development and securing your borders. In the mid-game, as your resources grow, you will engage in larger-scale campaigns, using a mix of military might and strategic cunning, such as luring enemy forces into ambushes.
