Time Crisis is a rail shooter where the core objective is to eliminate all enemies in each area while avoiding their attacks. You control your character's movement through pre-set paths but have direct control over aiming and shooting with the light gun. The key mechanic is the pedal: press it to pop out of cover and aim, and release it to duck back and reload. Your moment-to-moment play involves quickly identifying threats, popping up to shoot, and ducking to avoid incoming fire and reload your weapon. A useful beginner strategy is to memorize enemy spawn points and prioritize targets that fire quickly or throw grenades. The game is divided into stages with a boss fight at the end of each. The challenge rhythm is intense, with constant pressure from the ticking clock and multiple enemies attacking simultaneously. In the early stages, focus on learning the cover spots and enemy patterns. During the middle of a run, manage your health and time efficiently, as both are limited. In tense moments, especially during boss fights, stay calm, aim for weak points, and use cover strategically to avoid taking damage.
