Captain Tsubasa III is a soccer RPG where your primary goal is to lead your team to victory in various matches while progressing through a story mode. During matches, you control the entire team, moving players to pass, dribble, and shoot. The game uses a turn-based system for actions; when a player has the ball, you select from special moves or basic actions, often entering a mini-game or cinematic sequence for powerful shots or tackles. Success depends on managing your players' stamina and choosing the right techniques at the right time. Early on, focus on passing to build team play and conserve energy. In the middle of a match, look for openings to use your star players' signature moves. During tense moments, such as penalty kicks or last-minute attacks, carefully time your button presses in the action sequences to maximize power and accuracy. Defensively, position your players to intercept passes and use slide tackles sparingly to avoid fouls.
