In Mega Man 2, your goal is to guide the titular hero through eight challenging stages, each culminating in a boss fight against a Robot Master. You run, jump, and shoot your way through levels filled with enemies and environmental hazards. After defeating a Robot Master, you gain their signature weapon, which is often the weakness of another boss. A useful beginner strategy is to tackle the stages in a specific order to exploit these weaknesses, starting with Metal Man or Flash Man. The gameplay rhythm involves careful platforming, precise shooting, and learning enemy patterns. Early in a run, focus on mastering the basic buster shot and understanding each Robot Master's attack style. In the middle stages, utilize the special weapons you've acquired to overcome tougher enemies and obstacles. During tense moments, such as boss fights or tricky jumps, patience and pattern recognition are key to success.
