In Mega Man 2, your goal is to guide the titular hero through eight challenging stages, each culminating in a boss fight against a Robot Master. You run, jump, and shoot your way through levels filled with enemies and environmental hazards. After defeating a Robot Master, you gain their signature weapon, which is often the weakness of another boss. A useful beginner strategy is to tackle the stages in a specific order to exploit these weaknesses, starting with Metal Man or Flash Man. The gameplay rhythm involves careful platforming, precise shooting, and learning enemy patterns. Early in a run, focus on mastering the basic buster shot and understanding each Robot Master's attack style. In the middle stages, utilize the special weapons you've acquired to overcome tougher enemies and obstacles.
