In Shadow Force, you select one of three cyborg ninjas, each with unique attacks and a special weapon. Your objective is to fight through six stages of side-scrolling action, defeating waves of enemies and powerful bosses. The core gameplay involves moving horizontally across the screen, using a combination of basic attacks, jump kicks, and your character's unique projectile weapon, which has limited ammunition but can be replenished. A crucial mechanic is the ability to perform a powerful desperation attack when your health is low, which can clear the screen of enemies. As you progress, you'll face a variety of foes, from standard thugs to soldiers with firearms, requiring you to time your attacks and use your special weapon strategically against tougher opponents. In the early stages, focus on learning your character's move set and conserving your special weapon ammo for enemy groups or mini-bosses. During the middle of the game, the challenge increases with more aggressive enemies, so mastering the timing of your attacks and jumps to avoid damage becomes essential. In tense moments, especially during boss fights, watch for attack patterns and use your desperation move as a last resort to turn the tide. default : J + K is used to transform into the appearance of an enemy.
