Your primary goal is to guide protagonist Soma Cruz through a sprawling castle, defeating enemies and bosses to progress. Moment-to-moment gameplay involves platforming through interconnected rooms and using a variety of weapons and magical attacks to defeat enemies. A core mechanic is the Tactical Soul system: by defeating enemies, you have a chance to absorb their souls, granting you new permanent abilities, weapons, or magical attacks. These souls are categorized into Bullet, Guardian, Enchant, and Ability types, allowing for deep customization of your playstyle. Focus early on exploring thoroughly to map the castle and collect useful souls that suit your preferred combat approach, such as a strong weapon soul and a defensive or healing ability. As you progress, the castle reveals more complex platforming challenges and tougher enemies, requiring strategic soul management and quick reflexes. In tense moments, especially during boss fights, learn attack patterns, dodge effectively, and use your most powerful acquired souls to exploit weaknesses.
