In Mega Man X5, you play as the Reploid Maverick Hunters X or Zero, navigating side-scrolling stages filled with enemies, platforming challenges, and a boss at the end. You can dash, jump, and shoot, while Zero also has a powerful Z-Saber for melee combat. Collect health and weapon energy upgrades hidden throughout stages to increase your survivability. A key early-game strategy is to choose stages that grant weapons effective against subsequent bosses, creating a strategic order.
