Your main goal is to collect Power Stars hidden throughout various paintings and courses inside Princess Peach's castle. You control Mario in a fully 3D environment, using his signature moves like jumping, punching, and kicking to defeat enemies and navigate obstacles. Each course contains multiple stars, which are unlocked by completing specific objectives, solving puzzles, or defeating bosses. You start in the central hub of the castle, and as you collect stars, you gain access to new areas and more challenging courses. A useful beginner strategy is to first focus on collecting the easier stars in the early courses to build up your star count and unlock the basement and upper floors. Pay close attention to the mission hints provided at the start of each stage. In tense moments, such as boss fights or precise platforming sections, mastering Mario's long jump and wall jump is crucial for survival. The challenge rhythm involves exploring large, open levels, discovering secrets, and often revisiting courses with new abilities to reach previously inaccessible stars.
