In Gun Bird, your primary objective is to pilot your chosen aircraft through six vertically scrolling stages, destroying waves of enemy units and avoiding their projectiles. You control your ship with a joystick, moving in eight directions, and have two main attack buttons: one for your standard rapid-fire shot and another for a powerful screen-clearing bomb that grants temporary invincibility. Collect power-up items dropped by specific enemies to enhance your main weapon's strength and spread, and gather gold coins to increase your score and earn extra lives.
