In Gun Bird, your primary objective is to pilot your chosen aircraft through six vertically scrolling stages, destroying waves of enemy units and avoiding their projectiles. You control your ship with a joystick, moving in eight directions, and have two main attack buttons: one for your standard rapid-fire shot and another for a powerful screen-clearing bomb that grants temporary invincibility. Collect power-up items dropped by specific enemies to enhance your main weapon's strength and spread, and gather gold coins to increase your score and earn extra lives. Each stage culminates in a challenging boss fight that requires careful pattern recognition and evasion. As a beginner, focus on memorizing enemy spawn points and bullet patterns, and conserve your bombs for emergency situations when you are cornered. The game's difficulty escalates quickly, so maintaining a powered-up weapon is crucial for survival. In tense moments, prioritize dodging over attacking, and learn to use the subtle speed variations of your ship to weave through dense bullet patterns.
