In Mario Kart 64, the goal is to win races against computer-controlled or human opponents across a variety of tracks. Beginners should focus on learning the track layouts and mastering the drift mechanic to maintain speed. In tense moments, such as the final lap, use defensive items to protect your position and offensive items to overtake opponents. The game also features battle modes where the objective is to pop other players' balloons using items in an arena.
