Your goal in Pokémon Crystal is to become the Pokémon League Champion by traveling across the Johto and Kanto regions, capturing and training Pokémon, and defeating eight Gym Leaders to earn badges. You begin by choosing a starter Pokémon from Professor Elm and then embark on a journey through tall grass and caves, where you will encounter wild Pokémon. You engage in turn-based battles, selecting moves from a menu to attack, use items, or try to catch wild Pokémon with Poké Balls. A key early strategy is to build a balanced team with a variety of types to exploit enemy weaknesses. As you progress, you'll need to manage your team's health and status conditions, solve environmental puzzles, and confront the mysterious Team Rocket. The game's rhythm involves exploration, trainer battles for experience, and periodic major boss fights at Gyms. In tense moments, such as battling the Elite Four, careful type matchups and keeping healing items ready are crucial for success.
