In Sonic the Hedgehog for the Master System, your goal is to guide Sonic through six vibrant zones, each with multiple acts, to defeat the evil Dr. Robotnik. Collect rings scattered throughout the levels to protect yourself; if you get hit without any rings, you lose a life. Focus on building momentum to traverse loops and slopes quickly, and search for hidden areas containing power-ups and extra lives. The game emphasizes speed and precision, so learning the layout of each zone is key to avoiding pitfalls and enemies. In later stages, timing becomes critical as you face more complex platforming challenges and tougher boss battles. Pay attention to environmental hazards like spikes and water, which can slow you down or cause instant death if you drown. The final confrontation with Robotnik requires pattern recognition and quick reflexes to avoid his attacks while striking his vehicle.
