Your goal is to guide vampire hunter Simon Belmont through Dracula's castle, defeating monsters and bosses across 11 stages. You move with the D-pad, jump with a button, and attack with your signature Vampire Killer whip, which can now be swung in eight directions. Use sub-weapons like the axe or holy water by collecting hearts, activated with another button. The core challenge is precise platforming and enemy pattern recognition. Early on, focus on mastering whip control and conserving health. Mid-game, learn boss attack patterns and use sub-weapons strategically. In tense moments, patience is key—avoid rushing and watch for environmental hazards like falling blocks and Medusa heads. A successful run depends on memorizing stage layouts and managing your limited resources.
