How to play
The core objective of Crash Team Racing is to win races against computer-controlled opponents or other players. You control a kart using the directional pad or analog stick to steer, accelerate, and brake. The main gameplay loop involves driving through three laps of a track as quickly as possible while collecting Wumpa Fruit and weapon crates. Wumpa Fruit increases your top speed when you collect ten, and weapon crates grant offensive or defensive items like missiles, traps, and speed boosts. Mastering the power slide is crucial; by tapping the drift button while turning, you can build up a turbo boost that gives you a burst of speed when released. In the early part of a race, focus on collecting items and maintaining a clean racing line. During the middle laps, use your weapons strategically to disrupt opponents ahead or defend against attacks from behind. In tense final moments, conserve a powerful item for the last stretch to secure victory. The Adventure Mode also includes time trials and boss races that require precise driving and item management.
