How to play
Langrisser III is a tactical RPG where you command a small party of characters on grid-based maps. Your core objective is to complete scenario goals, which usually involve defeating all enemy commanders or seizing a specific castle. Moment-to-moment play involves moving your units across the battlefield and engaging in one-on-one duels when attacking enemies. Unlike previous games, combat transitions to a side-view action sequence where you directly control your unit's attacks and blocks. A useful beginner strategy is to carefully manage your unit placement on the main map to gain terrain advantages and avoid being surrounded. In the early game, focus on protecting your commander and using your soldiers to absorb damage. As you progress, you'll acquire new classes and magical abilities, which become crucial for overcoming tougher enemy formations. During tense moments, prioritize eliminating enemy mages and archers who can attack from a distance, and always be prepared to heal your commander to avoid an instant game over.
