Langrisser V is a tactical RPG where you command units on grid-based maps. Your core objective is to defeat enemy forces while keeping your commander alive. Each turn, you move your units across the battlefield, positioning them to attack enemies or capture strategic points. You engage in combat when your unit moves adjacent to an enemy, with outcomes determined by unit type, stats, and terrain advantages. A key beginner strategy is to use the rock-paper-scissors system where infantry beat lancers, lancers beat cavalry, and cavalry beat infantry. Focus on protecting your commander early, as their defeat results in an immediate game over. In the middle of a battle, use magic and special commander skills to turn the tide. During tense moments, carefully manage your troops' morale and health, ensuring you don't overextend a single unit.
