How to play

Your objective is to guide Samus Aran through the labyrinthine caverns of Zebes, defeating Space Pirates and the parasitic Metroids. You start with a basic Power Suit and Arm Cannon, and must explore to find upgrades like the Morph Ball, Missiles, and various Beam weapons. The moment-to-moment play involves navigating side-scrolling environments, jumping between platforms, and shooting enemies. A key beginner strategy is to shoot walls and floors to uncover hidden passages containing vital power-ups. The challenge rhythm is a mix of exploration, combat with recurring enemies, and intense boss battles. In the early game, focus on mapping out the areas you can access and collecting Energy Tanks to increase your health. During the middle phase, use your acquired abilities like the Ice Beam and High-Jump Boots to reach previously inaccessible zones. Tense moments occur during boss fights, where you must learn attack patterns and use your most powerful weapons effectively to survive.
