How to play

Your goal is to guide the knight Del through the four towers of Shadowgate Castle, solving environmental puzzles and defeating guardians to gather the elemental crystals. You navigate the castle from a first-person perspective, using the control stick to look around and interact with objects. The A button is your primary action key for picking up items, opening doors, and using your inventory. The B button often cancels actions or brings up your inventory screen, where you can combine items to create new tools. Combat is real-time; you must aim your weapon with the control stick and press the A button to attack when an enemy is near. Pay close attention to your health and magic meters, and use healing items or spells when necessary. Early on, focus on thoroughly exploring each room and collecting every usable item, as many puzzles require specific combinations. In tense moments, such as boss fights, keep your distance, learn attack patterns, and strike when you see an opening.
