Batman Forever: The Arcade Game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you control either Batman or Robin. Your objective is to fight through waves of thugs and iconic villains from the film across various levels in Gotham City. Use a combination of basic attacks, special moves, and grappling hooks to defeat enemies. Each character has unique moves; Batman uses his Batarangs and strength, while Robin is faster and more agile. You can also perform team-up attacks when playing with a second player. The game features a combo system, so stringing together attacks without getting hit increases your score and damage. In the early stages, focus on learning the basic attack patterns and mastering the grapple to control crowds. As you progress, you'll encounter stronger enemies and bosses who require specific strategies, such as dodging their attacks and countering during openings. During tense moments, especially boss fights, prioritize evasion and use your special moves wisely, as they consume health but can turn the tide of battle. Collect health pickups and other power-ups scattered throughout the levels to sustain your fight against Gotham's criminal underworld.
