When conflict arises, the game shifts to a tactical battle screen where you command your units in grid-based combat, using terrain advantages and unit types to outmaneuver the enemy. A key early-game strategy is to build strong relationships with powerful lords to secure protection and resources, while focusing on developing a single city's economy and military before expanding.
